June 30, 2005

So I went to the doc this morning (still made it to work for my 10:AM meeting) and they ran some tests and are supposed to call me with results.

But initially she said that it was probably a combo of the low blood pressure + lawn mowing + low blood sugar. So only if it keeps happening consistantly should I be worried.

I was a little speed demon to work this morning (so Brandon wouldn't have to go to my meeting), and I almost got a ticket...but apprently the cop wasn't interested in pulling me over, cause even though I was probably speeding by quite a bit, he didn't move from his resting place. :) Lucky me.

So I just took my blood pressure...and my Systolic came out as 92 (optimal (better then normal) is 120 and my Diastolic was 57 (Optimal is 80)...so needless to say I'll be calling the doctor tomarrow...

So I got a call yesterday when I was about ready to leave work, from Shannon. She told me that the walk through on her apartment hadn't gone so well and they told her to clean up a bunch of things.

So I told her I'd meet here there after I got done with work and gone home and changed.

Most of their complaints were kidna nitpickey and certainly worse then I had ever experienced with any of my previous rental places.

I've never had a dime not returned from my rentals.

I really think that they are setting up the anal retentivness to keep the deposit...

Also, yesterday I got a bill for an EEG...which I had when I did my sleep study. The total bill was over $2000 and my share was $236.

So I guess for my birthday I'll be getting myself the EEG I already had.

Fun fun.

So last night after dinner, we headed over to Shannon's apartment to get the last of her things and clean her apartment.

So We did. I took about 2 hours (so 4 man hours) to get it looking relatively sparkley, given the old fixtures.

I gave her her spare keys back and she is going to turn them in today.

Today we get to clean our house more and put more of her things away.

Eventually, hope, we'll get this all done and cleaned up. My kitchen feels extra crowded (it's small as it is) and I want space to cook, without having to move things around.

Oh....and sometime last night during the storm, apprently my home phone stopped working. I called Qwest last night and they're sending a guy out today to look at it. But as it is, it's all off the hook.

Yesterday I had an Andrew Bird day. I listened to him all day...I think I'll do it again today.

So last night I wanted to take the effort to make something that I hadn't made before, so I did. I started cooking around 5:PM and it was ready at around 6:45.

On the Menu was Baked potatoes (simple enough), corn cooked in water, pepper, and unsalted butter (like 1/4th a stick), and Garlic Apple Pork Loin Chops. The idea for it was based on something else I read.

To make the Garlic Apple Pork Loin Chops:

3 apples, cored, and chopped (I left the skins on)
2 tablespoons of minced Garlic
2 Pork loin Chops (thick cut)
3 Tablespoons of vegetable oil
1 splash of lemon juice
Pepper to taste.

I mixed the garlic, apples and vegetable oil in a sautee pan and then add the pork loin chops on top. I cooked it on medium low for a while, with the lid on, then medium high for a shorter while.

The results were pretty good.

To serve it I put the meat on the plate and spooned the apple garlic mixture over it.

The Pork was cooked just about right and combined with the garlic and the apples it just tasted nummy.

The apple garlic mixture also mixed pretty well, on the plate, with the corn.

I got a good review from Shannon too.

June 26, 2005

So Saturday morning, bright and early our alarms go off and we get ready for the day. A little after 7:30 AM Brandon arrives, and while it is raining (pouring more like), Brandon and I head over to the rental place and Shannon heads over to to her apartment.

So apprently the computers were down at the rental place. So we had to wait....and wait...and wait...and wait. It was quite obnoxious. Eventually the computers came back up and we finally got our truck and Brandon drove it over to Shannon's apartment.

So we meet over there, and I got a call from Jen who said that she and Dusty were on their way.

Brandon and I moved forward, and moved out her matresses and couch.

Eventually Jen and Dusty showed up and the moving began in earnest.

Between Brandon's moving and packing prowess, and Dusty's packing ability, we packed up right quick.

On the way back to my house, Dusty, Brandon and I head over to Val's uncle's house to pick up a dining room table. Val showed up there too. The table was very beautiful. A little loose and beat up on the undersides, but over all still in quite good quality. Very nice. After chatting with Val's Uncle (Thanks!) we packed up the table and headed over to my house.

When we got home, Dave, Jerry and Renee were also there, and started to help with the unpacking. The area was a bit crowded, since there were many garage sales in the area. Moving in went pretty well, until we got to Shannon's couch. My house has small doors, so moving things through them is often pretty diffucult. Brandon removed the door to the downstairs, we removed the doors to game cloest in the basement and remove the lights above. Basically anything to increase the space for moving the couch downstairs. We discovered that there was no way we'd be able to get it downstairs.

So we tried again through the door from the basement to the garage. We took the door off, and Dave and Dusty were able to just barely squeeze the couch into the laundry room and then it went fine from there to the family room downstairs (easily seen by my webcam). Woo!

So Brandon and I took the truck back, and when we returned, Dave, Jerry and Renee had taken off. So Dusty, Brandon, Jen, Shannon and I headed over to Rock Bottom Brew Pub (Brandon picked up Val on his way over). We ate, and stuffed ourselves and drank some beer...mmm...stout.

Afterwards, Shannon and I headed to our house and started to put things away, moving things around, setting up her bed. Pretty much got the family room organized, our bedroom, and about half way on the kitchen and the spare bedroom. The dining room is still quite messy though.

We were both pretty tired, so Shannon stayed home to take a nice long bath, and I headed out, after taking a shower.

I headed over to Josh's and I met up with him and Mandie. We headed out to see Land of the Dead. Chris called and invited me out to go bowling, and I told him that I'd tell Josh (I did), and ask Shannon if she wanted to go (she didn't, she was in her PJ's by the time I called her). It is nice to be invited out though. I gotta say that I liked it, but it wasn't as good as the Dawn of the Dead remake. Gory. Violent. Growingly aware zombies.

Enter the rantman:

So at this movie, it wasn't very crowded, but what did surprise me was the number of children in the theater. Now there are some movies that may be rated R that may be ok to show to a child...may...but probably not. There were not just one or two, but SEVERAL children at the theater. I could see maybe like something, but a zombie flick? Come on? What kind of parents or guardians, or caretakers take children to see a ZOMBIE movie? These were not teenagers these were children probably ranging in age from 3 to 9.

Ugh!

Exit the rantman

After the movie, we headed back to Josh's and after talking about getting a drink, then told drinking stories and after a while, I barrowed Josh's laptop (to burn off a dvd of Shannon and my trip to KC) and headed home.

This morning we got up, got ready for the day, watched Hollywood Homocide, which was...well...just awful...I mean really bad. Dry, boring, and stupid. Ugh.

Eventually her parents arrived.

They toured the house, played with George for a bit and then we all headed down to Des Moines Arts Festival. It was nice. There was acutally a couple of pieces that I would've really liked to acquire, however, being cash poor at this time, I was unable to. There was a couple of long exposure photos that were just awesome. The water looked so real, and just way cool. *sigh* Oh well. It was dreadfully hot out though and that was awful. On our way down the final part of the Art fair, we ran into Chris and Holly...now I know I said I would call them, but who really wants to hang out with someone else's parents? Espically when you don't know them at all.

Afterwards, we came back here and eventually Shannon's parents headed home.

A good weekend over all.

Next weekend is the 4th, the weekend after is gonna be my celebration for my birthday. mmm...getting older.

Shannon bought me a gift, and wrapped it all up... I dunno what it is, but I'm curious.

June 23, 2005

so when I do take my mask off at nights, I tend to wake up Shannon...last night, was apprently pretty bad.

So...

I told her that if she wakes up she needs to tell me to put the mask back on, it's not fair to her.

*sigh*

June 22, 2005

So...I went to the ENT today. I was running a bit late, cause I couldn't find the place cause none of the buildings around there have any numbers on them. I turned one street early and well...made myself later. I also found out that they had tried to call me at home to cancel my appointment (apprently the one I had an appointment with, had a death in the family).

So between the the way my tongue and my tonsils and etc sit in my mouth, he thinks that there would be about an 8% chance of success of a surgical option.

Am I a gambling man? Well...yes...but not really at those odds. So now comes the fun part. If I can get rid of the sleep apnea, then I can certainly go back for other options to address the snoring (which probably won't be covered by insurance).

So now comes the hard part. Apprently I need to seriously reduce my weight. This should help in things like my heartburn from time to time (weight around the stomach creates back pressure). This should also reduce the flaps of skin inside my neck, which could, in theory, make me just a snorer and not a stop breather.

I have made more more heathy choices (eating more fruits and vegatables and less canned things). I do excersize (now up to 2.1 miles walked on weekdays) and will probably join a gym with Shannon here after we get her all settled into the house. I know that brandon lost around 50 pounds this year, so it is certainly possible. So less in, more movement is really what I need to do. My food portions are still pretty big (even if the food I'm eating is better for me) and eating food is one of my favorite things to do (see long rant about la mie)

*sigh*

Oh well. We'll see what happens.

So a while ago Josh told me that Coke Zero was coming out. No Calories. So I saw it in the store last night when Shannon and I were grocery shopping.

So I drank it today.

Yeah...um..I'm never buying that again. It's not bad, but it's not good...I mean I didn't want to spit it out or anything, but I sure don't need to have it again.

Oh well...

June 20, 2005

So Friday, I forgot to mention that I had lunch with Sethy! (And Chris, Jen, and Brandon). It was fun to catch up with Seth, I miss seeing him.

On Sunday, Shannon and I drove to Cedar Rapids for a Father's Day dinner at my place. We went to her house and dropped off some parts to her mom's video camera that we had forgotten to return before and also picked up a dolly from her parent's too. We sat and chatted with her mom for a while.

He headed over to my parents and hung out there, while Josephy was cooking and etc. It was kinda fun. Emily was there with her husband and 3 kids, and my younger brother Jed too. Dinner was pretty good. Joseph needs a bit more practice with thicker cuts of meat, cause they were mostly...well...not done in the middle. My mom had made a rubarb cake, which was quite tasty.....mmm...rubarb cake...

Happy Father's Day, Daddoo!

They also gave me a gift for my upcoming birthday (since I probably won't see them between now and then). It was a tshirt. It was kinda funny. Although it doesn't necessarily fit with my tech-funny theme that I have...it's kinda cool anyways.

Shannon and I then headed over to Beaver Park, to Hang out with Nathan, Jenny and their daughter Taylor. We chated for a while and I found out exactly what Nathan would be doing. He's gonna be working for a company that sells and supports items from Network Appliance. And he also told me that Jenny is now pregnant with their second child :) So after a while we headed back to where they were staying, so they could make themselves dinner. They are currently staying with Nathan's younger brother Zeke. We went ahead in my car and chatted with Zeke for a little bit before Nathan and Jenny got back. We chatted quite a bit more and around 7:PM or so started to head towards home.

Shannon and I chatted bunches on the way home, it was nice.

When we got home, we found that Gracie had left her hiding place under my bed and was acutally moving around a little. This morning I also saw her downstairs, so, finally, she is started to get used to my house.

So this weekend, a few friends are helping me move the rest of Shannon's big things into my house. We are also getting a Dining room table from Val's Uncle (they bought a new one). So that should be good too.

Sometimes it seems a bit crowded now. The bathroom upstairs is kinda small, so when we're both trying to brush our teeth and stuff, it can be a bit crowded. But it still works. More parts of my house are becoming more "our" spaces as opposed to "My" space. The kitchen is still mine...for the most part (the cat food and water are in there). But it's still nice. I want her there. I've liked waking up next to her for the last few days. Although when her alarm went off this morning about an hour before mine...it was...well...but I did go back to sleep.

June 18, 2005

So after getting out early on Friday, I came home, changed and waited for Shannon to get done with her test. In a little bit she called and I headed over to her apartment. We loaded up our cars with kitty things, her clothes and etc, and last but not least, the kitties. She only has one animal carrier, so we tricked George into that and set him aside, and then the hunt for Gracie began. She was under Shannon's bed, which is one of her favorite hiding places, and she didn't want to move. So eventually I chased her out from under the bed with a pillow and Shannon grabbed a hold of her.

So with Gracie in Shannon's arms and George in his pet carrier, we headed out to the car and headed over to my house. Gracie was a little nervous. But she hung out at the back of Shannon's car, and seemed ok. We setup all the kitties things and then released them on my house. Gracie immediately went and hid, by the couch, then behind on of my CD case holder thing, where she hung out for a few hours. George was a bit more adventuresome and explored the rest of the house. Using much cation with the stairs.

Shannon and I headed over to the Jordan Creek Mall to go eat. We ended up picking Joe's Crab Shack. So this place is kinda obnoxious, which I could deal with, if the food was at least halfway good. It wasn't. I can get better clam chowder at a bar here in town, then I got there at Joe's. I think the only good thing I had to say about it was that the super spicy sauce (which wasn't super spicy), that was based on carrots, was pretty tasty, and Shannon said that her rainbow drink thing was pretty good. All in all it wasn't a very good experience.

We left there and headed for the mall. We wondered around for a while, until it was near the time that other people were going to show up and then we bought our tickets...I guess Shannon did by two things...she got more of that Chocolate Mousse body lotion that smells so good...mmmm....chocolate... So we got our tickets and sat down to wait for others to show up. So Courtie and her beau, James, Showed up, and they got their tickets and courtie went to go replace the broken front of her ceel phone. I got a call from Dave, about 20 minutes before the show was starting and he was just leaving the house and he wanted me to pick him up a ticket. And then I got a call from Jen, saying that herself, Dusty, and Drew were on the way, and could I pick them up tickets...(When the phone ring, I knew it was them...) The theater didn't look very busy, so I was fairly certain that it wouldn't sell out.

So the movie....

I gotta say it's probably one of the best super hero movies and one of the best movies so far this year. This is how the batman series should've been like. Gritty, violent, and very dark. This is how Gotham is supposed to be. I think I may have to go see that one again...in the theater...

After the movie, We headed outside and met up with Chris, and Pat (Tinker). There were talks of going to strip clubs, bars, and etc. And while we were chatting out there, Brandon and Val, and Matt spilled out of the sports bar right in front of the movie theater. It was kinda funny. After a bit, they headed off home, and Shannon and I (after inviting people to go with us) went and got some cheesecake. Mmm....so many calories...mmmm...

Apprently the other group headed down to the Royal Mile, which I miss and I haven't been there in a while, but we went home and went to bed.

Today, we went and got more stuff from Shannon's and got some more kitty stuff (to try to stop the spread of kitty litter from kitty paws. Shannon has started to put her things away in closets and the closet in our room is now pretty full and fairly organized with her stuff...including her 400 pairs of shoes...ok maybe not 400, but probably 15.

Now she needs her dressers so that she can put away the rest of her clothes. I thought I had a lot of clothes...but...wow...I am dwarfed...oh well...she is a girl and I guess its to be expected.

Last night...well...was interesting. First night with the kitties in the house for me. I think George woke me up 2 or 3 times. One time he touched my touch lamp and turned it on (this scared him, but it also woke me up), another time he was starting to chew on my fingers (which he seems to like to do) and I gave him some negative reinforcement for that. He's gonna learn here soon enough that he has a place in this house, and it's not walking on my kitchen counters, biting my fingers or toes, or being a nuicense. I think he just needs some reinforcement.

Anyhoo...more cleaning and stuff.

June 16, 2005

So the last few nights, I have been taking my mask off (without remembering it at all) and not turning off the machine. So this morning It was hanging up, like I store it, and blowing air. Yesterday, it was on the floor, running...This is also bad cuase I was trying to get an idea as to how long I was wearing my mask during the night. The one night I actually got recorded, it was about half the night (3/6 hours). I was reading on my bed the other night and ended up taking a nap (while Shannon was downstairs studying) and when I woke up I was far more tired then I was when I went to sleep...So maybe this mask does good...but I still don't want to wear the damn thing. My little sore on my nose from the mask is almost healed (been wearing a bandage over it at night).

I'm glad I have my appointment with and ENT guy next week.

Tonight, is my last night alone in my house. Shannon's stuff is sitting around the main level of my house and upstairs and downstairs all packed up, waiting to be put away. Tomorrow, Shannon and her kitties (George and Gracie) move in and make my house their primary recidence. Shanon has already gotten mail at my house (from qwest about moving) and a phone call (from a job interview she did earlier in the week). I've updated the message on the voicemail and everything. We've had a disagreement on placement of kitty litter boxes (she says that experts say that the number of litter boxes should be the number of kitties + 1). I know that there aren't any great places to place them (other then the laundry room downstairs)...but we'll come up with something. Maybe if my bathrooms were a bit bigger...

I tried Pepsi Lime this morning. And well...it's not very limey...it's pretty much just pepsi as far as I can tell. I was finishing up my bottle around 10:AM and took my blood pressure meds with it...it was funny...caffiene + blood pressure meds...ok...not that funny, but it struck me as funny.

I found out what happened to my brother at the spelling be, why the site was kinda misleading. Apprently he got enough points to go to round 3 last year, but missed it this year by one point. So the combo of the inital verbal round and a written test he just barely missed the cut off to be on TV. It's still pretty cool that he made it that far. And he did get a pretty good haul from the bee, it sounds like.

Shannon and I talked about money...and I kinda explained why I had so much PTO, which I never really thought about. This next paycheck I'll break 9 weeks of PTO (360 hours). And when it comes down to it, I don't like going to places by myself (I had fun in KC with her, and when I visited Nathan out in Boston that was fun) and most of the time I just don't have the money to actually go somewhere. I also like the idea that if I lost my job, they'd have to cough up 9 weeks of pay...

June 12, 2005

So I just got a call from Nathan, just telling me that he's back in town, and updating him on the situation. It's nice to hear from him and nice to know that they are just over a hundred miles away, as opposed to 1300 or 1400. Looks like he's pretty close to getting a job to, and it sounds like a pretty good gig too.

Woo!

So pretty soon they'll come up and see my house :)

So I had read on one of the local newspaper's websites about the brunch at La Mie Bakery(on 42nd street), so I wanted to give it a try. So Shannon and I headed over there. around 10 or 10:30 or so. We had to wait a bit for a table, but eventually got seated. I had a mocha and shannon had an orange juice before we sat down. We were eventually led to our table and sat down at the back of the restaurant. The menu was small, but the choices sounded pretty good.

Shannon had the omlette fromange with cherry yougart and I had the encrusted cinnamon toast with twice baked potatoes. We waited for our food.

So the resturant is very simply decorated. It has paintings on the walls and simple chairs and tables.

The food arrived.

Not to offen am I this impressed with the presentation of food. Shannon's plate was setup in such a fashion that it just seemed to work. The omlette was decorated with cheese, chives and sour cream on the side of it was a simple greens salad with a vinigrette dressing. Her cherry yougart had cherrys and walnuts in it. All of these things tasted very good. I was quite impressed with consistantcy of the little part of the omlette (of her's) that I had. The encrusted cinnamon french toast was sliced into quarters and balanced together in a sort of teepee type thing with spaces and in the spaces there were fresh strawberrys and fresh blueberrys all over a lake of syrup. The taste...oh my god. Previously the best french toast I had, was my friend Nathan's made with Challah, but this...was just down right amazing. I dont know what the bread is but I was in heaven. The twice baked potato, we both aggreed, was just down right amazing. A combination of potato (very well mashed very creamy), sour cream and chives and one other thing mixed in with the sour cream that I couldn't identify. Heavenly is all I can say (Shannon says they were Yummy).

Shannon was still a bit hungry so she ordered a croissant, which was really good to. The crust was flakey, the insides were very fluffy. The jam was strawberry and nummy too.

We picked up a big oatmeal raisin cookie for me and a chocolate chip cookie bar for Shannon (we ate these later and they were yummy) on our way out.

I gushed about this place on the phone to my parents for like 15 minutes...it was silly.

We are definately going there again!

June 11, 2005

So I took Shannon out to eat at the Drake Diner. Mmm...Drake Diner. It was a nice meal. So we headed back to her apartment and I dropped her off. She had to work this morning, so she really couldn't go out to late.

I drove down to Java Joe's and met up with Courtney and her beau (James S) and eventually a whole crew showed up (Josh, Adam, Tiffany, Ryan, Drew, and even later Jen and Dusty). It was open mike night. The first people that were up there set up for like half an hour, which was annoying, espically since it was just two mics, an acoustic guitar and an electric guitar. They then proceded to play one song, which was actually not to bad, you can tell that they had put a lot of work into it. Then...they tore down. It was quite silly...all that for one song.

Then James (not Courtie's beau, the military one soing going into service) took the stage with Drew and two other guys I didn't know. They played an oasis cover (ugh) and then two Dispatch covers. It was actually pretty good. The dispatch was played better then the oasis.

Afterwards two young wipper snappers came on stage and...well...were not very good. but I guess that's what open mic night is about.

The next act was setting up, and well...was being purposfully non melodic, playing an untuned guitar (even doing that poorly) and singing out of tune. The guy had half his head shaved. I like a lot of boundry pressing music, but this wasn't music, it was some guy on stage subjecting people to absolute crap. We left.

It was decided, after much debating and standing in a light drizzle, we headed off to go to a mexican resturant, but it was closed, so we ended up at perkins.

Afterwards, a few went home (me included) and a few other's went to a party.

June 10, 2005

Went to the doctor this morning. My blood pressure is still a bit high so he doubled my Cozaar dose from 50 mg to 100 mg. We also talked about acid reflux (cause of an issue with my dad), so now they have that on record, just so they can be aware. So it was not a bad appointment...took a bit longer then the other ones that I've been to at that clinic.

I just got back from going home to meet a person from Des Moines Water Works. Apprently my water meter wasn't reporting and needed replacing. So now it'll do so via radio transmission. So it looks all shiney and new. I guess that means I won't be getting consistant $45 bills from them.

On my way back to work, I saw this funny thing. A kid was driving a Sunfire, with a body kit. It just looked silly. Also, on 63rd between grand and railroad, my car topped over 10,000 miles.

June 9, 2005

So...I stopped by a local CD store to pick up some CDs. Before I did this I had checked thier price on my current favorite online retailer. So looking. One CD was about 2 dollars more expensive at the CD Store and the other was 4 dollars more expensive... Since at 25$ I can get free shipping...there's not added cost there. So...when it comes down to it, as much as I want to buy local, I don't want to pay 10 to 20% more. Oh well...

So I saw Ritz Sticks Cheddar crackers and so, even though I am on low sodium diet, I picked up a box. I'm thinking I like cheddar, I like ritz, I like cheddar. So yeah...I'm really unimpressed. The flavor is not very balaneced and just kinda tastes like a ritz with some cheap cheese salt added to it, and not enough...there's not much of a cheddar flavor.

June 8, 2005

So I noticed the other day that they have released a buffalo nickel and it kinda made me think a bit. Is Mint just trying in a relatively easy way to get coins out of ciruclation? You've got the state quarters, which so many people are collecting (even though since everyone is collecting they'll be pretty much worth about nothing, since they're not rare). Other specialty coins coming out. How much of a diffrence could it make?

So this morning I got all drenched. I had a couple of letters to mail, so I had to go to the post office to get stamps (since I don't generally have 'em at home since I do online bill pay almost exclusivly). But I got a parking ticket on Monday when I went to the city council meeting, so I needed to pay that and another medical bill. So I picked up the stamps and got a little damp doing it. Not so bad. But coming in here today from the outside, I got drenched. The rain was just coming down absurdly so. I got a few chuckles form my coworkers too.

So far this year I've spent $238.20 out of pocket...well out of pre-tax flexable spending. My insurance has picked up $898.29 in physician charges. I couldn't get my pharmacy plan to open up and state how much they have spent, but it's probably a few bucks there too. This medical crap is expensive.

Shannon is bringing over more stuff and studiing on a regular basis for her State Board exams for Vet Tech.

Oh...and they changed the the direction of the one way street in valley junction. Which...well...I find dreadfully annoying. Before I could enter the road from Grand, drive down, hit the post office, head to railrod or 63rd and then head to work. Now I have to drive PAST the post office to go there. It's obnoxious now.

Visited with the Sleep doc today, and got the results of my sleep study. Apprently I stopped breathing 42 times an hour.

I saw the sleep pattern too and the level 4 (deep) stage of sleep, I got to for maybe a few minutes at a time while not on the machine.

The diffrence between the machine and not the machine is pretty vast.

He also suggested either loosing up the mask or wearing a bandaid over my nose at night (cause I have this big scab on my nose cause the mask keeps rubbing it.

The problem was that when I had the mask looser, it was letting air out and it blew on my eyes and then I'd have dry eyes ALL day...not just first thing in the morning, but ALL day.

But I did tell him about snoring my whole life (even when I was a skinny kid) and how my younger sister had something done that pretty much stopped it and it was worse then mine ever was. And that the CPAP machine was requiring to much of a commitment for me (a pill you just take, boom, done, this you wear it every night and clean it every day) and that I wanted to explore surgical options.

So in about 2 weeks I have an appointment with an ENT doctor.

So this whole "she's moving in" thing is becoming very real. It's not just me cleaning out spaces and making room for her things or a few piles of clothes. We took down the things on her walls at her house (of which she has lots) and put them up in my house.

There's lots of things on my walls now.

We also moved over her videos and DVDs.

I got to say most of her art I really like, and none of it I don't like. Although my clock and martini glass picture are now displaced and I haven't really decided where they would end up (the martini glass picture is hung up but I don't like where it is).

So this week I've got two doctor appointments. One tomorrow (sleep study follow up), and one Friday (2nd blood pressure med follow up). Tomorrow I will tell the doctor that this whole CPAP machine is not going to work in the long run. And if he doesn't suggest alternatives, I do have the names of a few ENT doc's here in town that I'll be willing to talk to. So we'll see.

So last night was our 5 month anniversary. So this is quite a milestone for both of us I think. i'm glad she's here. I would've liked to taken her out somewhere nice, but my bank account is quite a bit low on funds right now, so we stayed at home. We did head over to Hy-vee to pick up the fixins to make some Chinese food. I had to buy a diffrent kind of chicken for it. The good thing is that it had about 1/10 the sodium of the normal chicken I would buy, the bad thing, it was twice as expensive ($5.99 a pound). But apprently it's grain fed and not frozen in a sodium solution.

So we came back here and I made dinner. I think it turned out pretty good. I'm still working out the spices that I should add to chineese food. The spice combinations in the store seem to have a lot sodium in them.

The food turned out good. I nice mixture of fresh and frozen vegatables. The chicken I flavored with lemon juice, butter, and pepper. I think it turned out pretty well. I think Shannon misses salt though...to be honest I do too.

So we ended up watching a movie on on-demand and just taking the night pretty easy. She headed home around midnight.

I love that girl.

So Isaac made it through a couple of rounds but was knocked out. That's too bad. I think it would've been cool to see him on TV today. But it's really cool that he made it that far. WOOT!

So I was walking this morning listening to the radio. And on it they stated that there had been cougar sightings near the waveland golf course and the Cemetary that I walk near every morning...

Kinda not what someone wants to hear.
